Celebrate with us at Shelbourne Hotel and The Rooftop. Make a booking for your group to drink, dine and be merry! Wrap up the end of the year in good spirits and good company at Shelbourne Hotel’s garden bar or rooftop.

This year, we are hosting celebrations in a seated, CovidSafe format.

NON-EXCLUSIVE GROUPS OF UP TO 30 PEOPLE
Groups of up to 30 people are welcome for seated CovidSafe celebrations in our public bars. This option is great for informal dining and drinks for social and corporate groups.

As our bars are open plan public spaces, so this option doesn’t facilitate speeches, formalities or presentations. (Private room hire is a better option for those requirements, see below).

Tables can be booked at The Rooftop or the Main Bar and Garden, with your preference noted for indoor or outdoors. See venue photos online if you are unfamiliar with our venue.

MINIMUM SPEND ON FOOD & BEVERAGE
In the lead up to Christmas a prepaid minimum spend commitment is required to secure a group booking. The minimum spend must be prepaid at the time of booking for your confirmed minimum guest numbers. Additional seats can be added subject to availability.

Prepaid funds can be allocated to your choice of food and beverages. We recommend choosing one of our set menu options and allocating remaining funds to a bar tab. You can also choose to allocate all funds to a tab and order from the bar menu as you go on the day.

You can nominate the drinks you want to allow on your tab and guests can access this at the bar via wristbands, or you can control tab access yourself via a single tab card if preferred.

If your gathering is self-funded and you want to control equal $ value per person, we can arrange separate bar vouchers at an additional fee of $2.50pp. However, a single prepayment is required at the time of booking.

Minimum spend commitments vary based on the date and time and are as listed below. If available, remaining tables without prepayment requirements will be released for online bookings 7 days prior to the date.

Prepaid evening bookings are available for arrival between 4pm and 5:30pm or after 7pm.
A 3 hour period is guaranteed. Extension thereafter is subject to availability. Most tables are rebooked.

 

AVAILABILITY 

*NOTE: Trading hours at The Rooftop are limited and may not be available every day. All bars are closed on Sundays. The main bar and garden is now available for bookings on 12 December only. Walk-ins might be possible on this date also, however the venue is closed to the public on all other Saturdays. All other bookings will be between Monday and Friday.

COVIDSAFE RULES
All bookings proceed in a CovidSafe format in accordance with the rules set by NSW Health. These rules are subject to frequent changes. Current rules include;

  • All guests must be seated. Cocktail style functions and dance floors are not allowed as yet. A seat is allocated per person, so it is important to book for accurate numbers.
  • All guests must check-in to the venue’s digital contact tracing register individually.
  • Social groups have a 30 person limit. Corporate functions are allowed for higher numbers but subject to venue capacity limits. Private rooms are recommended for larger groups where possible.
  • Guests are asked to follow good CovidSafe behaviours such as hand hygiene and 1.5m social distancing from others.

EXCLUSIVE FUNCTION ROOMS
Private function rooms can be arranged for larger corporate groups or those with formalities and presentations.
Please contact our events and reservations team for details. Note that higher minimum spend commitments and hire costs apply for exclusive use. Private hire includes a private bar, bathrooms and AV system to facilitate your requirements and choice of music.

FAQ

  1. Can I make a tentative booking?
    No sorry, we can’t take tentative bookings or hold dates. Payment is required to confirm a booking.
  2. Is there a hire fee?
    No. We are only asking for a prepaid commitment to a minimum spend on food and beverages. You choose what you spend that on.
  3. What if someone drops out?
    Catering orders are finalised 7 days prior to your booking. If your guest numbers change prior to this deadline, the extra funds can be added to your bar tab. If numbers change afterwards, the food will still be served as planned.
  4. Do I have to choose a set menu?
    No, it’s entirely up to you how you spend the prepayment. You can allocate all prepaid funds to a bar tab and order from the bar menu as you go on the day. However, the kitchen does need to prioritise advanced orders, so food service might be a bit slower to go that way. 
  5. Can I only get a booking with a prepayment?
    We get it, sometimes you want to keep things casual. Prepaid bookings help us prevent no-shows and cancellations while we are operating with heavily restricted covid capacity. If you’re after a casual booking with no commitments, that’s fine. You just need to wait until tables are released onto our online booking system 7 days prior to the date.
  6. Can I walk in?
    Sure, subject to capacity and seating availability under the covid capacity rules. There will be some weather dependant tables in the Market Street Garden which will be left open for walk-ins from 12pm. It’s best to arrive nice and early. 
  7. Can I book over the phone?
    No, sorry please use the instant online booking button for a booking within 7 days or return a booking form with your prepayment details.
