Craft Beer of the Month

Curious creatures and beer nerds rejoice… The Shelbourne Hotel has dedicated a beer tap to the admirable art of Craft Beer.

Each month we feature a cracking Australian craft beer, showcasing one of the brilliant amber ales our homegrown brewers are famous for. Occasionally we’ll be tempted by an International brew and temporarily tap a key or two. Subscribe to our Beer Mail list to keep in the loop about what we’re pouring each month, so you can be ready to wrap your mitts around a schooner of each fresh keg we tap!

James Squire Hop Thief  The latest edition of the Hop Thief seasonal series is #8. A fresh take on an American Pale with a mild malt backbone and a balanced blend of spice, grapefruit and hoppy floral aromas. Now on tap for a limited time. Get in and get it while its flowing!

Stone & Wood’s Pacific Ale is a perfectly sessionable summery beer and a tribute to their home turf on the edge of the Pacific Ocean in Byron Bay. Brewed using all Australian barley, wheat and Galaxy hops, Pacific Ale is cloudy and golden with a big tropical  fruity aroma and a refreshing finish. It isn’t filtered or pasteurized so retains the cloudy golden colour. After being dry hopped at the end of fermentation, Stone & Wood Pacific Ale is then drawn straight from the storage tank at the brewery into the bottle and now chilling in the fridge at Shelbourne Hotel.

International Beers that have also appeared in our fridges include Kronenbourg, Asahi and Heineken 3.

Heineken 3 is an easy drinking, lower calorie and full flavoured beer that you’d be surprised to find is Mid Strength. The flavour is smooth, refreshing and perfectly balanced. Its a great choice with lunch.
